1944 2.5 inch Cards World Champs
1944 and 1906 were the only years that two teams from the same city (other than New York) met in the World Series. In 1944 the St. Louis Browns played in their first World Series against the St. Louis Cardinals. The Cardinals defeated the Browns in six games.
